Thinking what could smell alike this strange but well thought start, i can say it reminds me to the rare beauty of Aromatics Elixir, being all over White Patchouli cleaner, lighter and less complex with a very different performance as we will see. that is, or may reasonably be considered to be submitted in extreme volumes and as such be deemed as ‘spam’; To be honest I don't hate it but there's something in it that I can't get along with..patchouli is not my fav but I usually like it,specially when it's paired with rose and spices

This fragrance has an intensive opening friends and co workers describe as an amazing floral wash. Mostly I get a patchouli bomb and that's fine by me. Silage is moderate to strong depending on how much is applied. You're in control of the wheel here babe. Longevity you ask? This one`s an all-nighter. Sniff you in the morning. I did a very light 1-spray on my arm to test (I was wearing something else on my body) so I may change my opinion when worn properly on my body. And it's a rainy 60-degree summer day in Upper Michigan if that has anything to do with it.After a short moment the Patchouli changes on my skin. It's still earthy and aromatic, it's not the sterilized sparkling patch you find in most mainstream fruitchoulis. But it's very smooth and polished, like sleek dark woods. Just as one expects to receive more opulence and seduction, things grind to a halt. Patchouli begins to pale and wither away, leaving behind a strong and brash woody note laced with musks and sharp amber. Even more disconcertingly, something in the drydown makes me think of the musky sweetness associated with fabric softeners. The switch is so jarring and disappointing that it took me several trials to finally come to terms with the fact that White Patchouli and I are not meant to be together. As is the case with fragrances one does not like, White Patchouli lasts forever on my skin. At any rate, to experience a fantasy that it promises but did not deliver, I reach for Agent Provocateur or Frédéric Malle Portrait of a Lady. Opening part is very loud and harsh for me but when it calms down,I can wear it and tolerate it but I can't like it I never ever thought of that someday I'd say that I'm happy that I didn't give away my bottle of white patchouli,although it's not a full 3.4 oz bottle anymore thanks to the decants of it I gave away in past months,but still I have more than half of it's precious juice saved in the bottle and I know that I'm gonna use it with joy.I hope that dear hubby can change his idea about it too because anyway I'm gonna wear it Blind Buy Report: If you're looking for anything remotely resembling dark brown earthy patchouli : look elsewhere. TOM FORD may have been playing abstract artist here but White Patchouli is LOVELY nonetheless. It's very sweet with a hint of sharpness and a tiny dash of spice. Nothing overwhelms or will poke out to annoy anybody. I'm feeling like this should have been called "Amber Patchouli" because it's got a warmth to the base notes.

Here patchouli is paired with white florals and spices,and I find the whole composition kind of wiered,I find bergamot and peony fresh here but there is also something heavy and old,something like dead florals or something rotten..it's also sweet with a hint of strange sourness,maybe it's not doing well with my chemistry..I also find it feminine and masculine the same time,sexy and without any sexuality the same time and modern and old fashioned the same time WP is, like the name, all about the Patch’, but with Tom Fords creation he takes the precarious material and transforms it into something quite unique. It is not an earthy patchouli, but emphasizes the woody camphor aspect, and as a result it is LUMINOUS and aromatic. Notes of coriander, ambrette seed, ylang-ylang, jasmine and methyl tuberose add definition and character. No floral dominates over the other and is very well blended with blonde woods and a kiss of musk and bewitching incense at the drydown. The patch is strong (as you'd imagine) in this, but there seems little else of interest is happening. Opens with patch, continues with patch, closes with patch...which is all well and good, but I can buy a bottle of good Patchouli essential oil, a bottle of carrier oil, and make myself a body oil that achieves the same effect for a lot less money. And I often do just that, or add some patchouli oil to unscented body lotion to make a lovely body lotion to layer with my perfumes. This is not the case of Tom Ford´s White Patchouli, a house whose export line redeems the, sometimes dissapointing, always aspirational, Private Blend line. White Patchouli, from the export line, has an outstanding lasting power and is a different approach to this classic material.

Ambrette arrives and dims the house lights slightly as she enters, causing everyone to move in a bit closer. Making things a bit more intimate. But the night is still young and the laughter continues. In fact, it's really quite nice and better than some of the other fragrances I have tried, lately - but, because of the dominant notes (which are not really my favourites), probably not something I would bother buying. As soon as I sprayed it,I could see why I disliked it,that very sharp opening of bergamot and coriander,while fleshy patchouli and floral sharpness was easy to detect through it.still I'm not fond of the opening part and it smells somehow like cheap-smelling handmade perfume oils which were popular in past where I live,but...
