The slimy texture may unappealing to some. If you get past the gooey, stringy texture, you can appreciate how hydrating and soothing this K-Beauty moisturizer is! Another bonus is that it pairs really well with my favorite COSRX product: the best-selling COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. If you take a look at the ingredients, you’ll notice it’s very, very minimal bare bones skin care. It’s a good thing. Note that snail secretion filtrate is at the top and no water! Panthenol and sodium hyaluronate are humectants which literally helps your skin attract moisture to your skin like a magnet.
It left my skin feeling really dry during the first few weeks of use and it also felt like it sort of aggravated my acne. I later found out that was because I added a number of new products all at once, but still it was one of those new products. This essence has a unique consistency; It’s more like a slimy, gel-like texture, it’s incredibly hydrating. It has a slightly runny gel texture with a transparent color, sometimes with a blue tint. It lathers up easily and gives a lot of lather, so a little goes a long way. Maybe it’s because I loved the mucin essence counterpart as well as the low pH cleanser, but I had high expectations for it. I was really expecting it to somehow combine the “greatness” of those two products but it was quite underwhelming.This COSRX kit includes smaller versions of the snail mucin cleanser, essence, eye cream, and the face cream reviewed in this post to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while restoring the skin barrier and soothing the skin.
